Goal 3 part 2 I m mixed on Ellsbury

Goal 3 part 2

I m mixed on Ellsbury. I still think he s a good player, he s still young enough to improve and to take more pitches but I m not going to complain since he raised his OBP by like 20-30 points last season, knowing he had to learn to walk. I ll still get on him for defense though, a player that fast should never have to die. I will not hold this year s injury against him, he wasn t the only one to feel the wrath of Beltre, next time they should watch it before they touch his head. However, I don t think he should have gotten so defensive about the whole thing, he didn t really talk about it, no one did. When you aren t guiding the narrative yourself you re really asking for it by allowing the media to guide it themselves. You want people to think you re trying hard to come back? Travel with the team for a couple series, let them photograph you on the field doing something easy. Write a darn tweet saying Workin hard 2 git back 2 da game or something. He didn t do any of that and the story turned on him. Part of being a player is dealing with the media, if you want to be a popular player like he seems to be than he is going to have to do better than he did this year. If he doesn t care he can pull a JD Drew and go off the radar, which is fine as long as he keeps his play up. We are not normal, We are Legends. People will tell their kids about us. Deon Butler before Ohio State Game 200 We are not normal, We are Legends. People will tell their kids about us. Deon Butler before Ohio State Game 200 Even though Francona isn t perfect who is?, I think he s done a bang-up job this season. Considering all the injuries, the ineffectiveness of the bullpen and Lackey and Beckett, that we have won so many games is a testament to a good manager and solid organizational depth credit to Theo there I m still a fan of Ellsbury s, as I think he can be a very valuable piece of the puzzle. His speed is a tremendous asset, and even though he has areas he needs to improve on OBP, getting better jumps on balls, etc, a lot of teams would be thrilled to have him And I agree that it s unfair to hold 2010 against him. Personally, I think the big change in public perception is because people expected too much from him goal 3 part 2 last year. He s got a lot of talent, to be sure, but if we expect him to be the next Carl Crawford, we re bound to be disappointed. And for sure, he handled the media the wrong way. The goal 3 part 2 is on him for not being PR-friendly throughout goal 3 part 2 season, but at the same time, not everyone can handle the Boston media with ease. Anyway, great article Logan! Looking forward to part 2 I don t think he got defensive enough, personally. I remember one instance where he was interviewed at his locker and he was prepared with pages of notes and such regarding his personal doctor s opinions and whatnot. If the medical staff was truly to blame, then he had every right to refute it. I think the fact that he is still young and inexperienced with the media may have been the reason he felt a bit apprehensive about confronting the team on a larger scale. As far as him publicly showing himself on the field like a Pedroia, Theo never refuted Jacoby s claim that it was actually the team s recommendation that he rehab away from the club, so I don t think he can be blamed for that not do I think it s necessarily a reason to think that he wasn t working just as hard as someone like Dustin to get healthy. Idk, I agree with pretty much everything you said, per usual, I just seem to defend Jacoby a little more than most especially regarding his injury this season. In 1979, he hit his first career home years before his birth. He once swung at a pitch and missed, just to see how it felt. He is the only player in history to record more hits than plate appearances. He is, the most talented man in baseball. I dont always swing, but when I do, I produce lasers. Dustin Pedroia, 250% strength by volume. Please pitch responsibly. I noted that you are a journalist student â you are an excellent sports writer and should write about the sox full-time! I like your use of substantiating references. much more research than most articles written by professionals also, there was a weird injury to bosoxâ wade boggs â hurt his back putting on his cowboy boots. there may have been more to the story.
